One of the key features you’ll want to look out for is the Infini II brake design. This brake design gives you the best of both worlds with centrifugal and magnetic brakes working together to improve your cast control. This brake system needs to be dialed in but, once you’ve got it set we’re told by guys that have used it that its flawless.
The centrifugal brake controls the beginning of your cast, while the magnetic brake comes into play near the end of the cast helping to slow the spool down. These two features of the brake come together to form the Infini II brake design.
The carbon matrix drag system on the Revo Rocket claims a drag of 22-lbs! This would make the Rocket ideal for pitching into cover because of its tremendous speed as well.
The extended carbon fiber handle also looks like it will improve the Rockets performance as it lightens the reel and features a bent design allowing your cranking hand to be closer to the frame of the reel.
Below you can see a specifications chart and from studying it we can tell you that the Rocket is definitely going to make its mark in fishing. Pros such as Mike Iaconelli, Bob Izumi and Bobby Lane will all definitely be taking advantage of this reel’s insane speeds.
The Revo Rocket will definitely come into play one of several roles. It can be utilized as a burner reel for fast moving baits. Spinnerbaits, inline spinners and certain lipless crankbaits can be cranked in super fast inciting reaction strikes from bass. The 9.0:1 gearing would be perfect for this.
Being so fast, the Rocket can also be used as a pitching or frog reel. The tough D2 gearing along with the Carbon Matrix drag system would make this a formidable heavy cover reel. The ergonomic handle and light weight components would also help make this an angler’s top choice for throwing frogs or pitching a jig.
The stats look great for this reel and our team thinks that it’s speed will make it a must have for anglers looking to get into some techniques specific gear. Stay tuned for an on the water review of this reel from our team!
