When it comes to performance apparel/technical apparel there are many companies trying to get your attention. After all, performance apparel is a sector in the outdoor industry that is growing rapidly. There are many well known companies that are spending big bucks to get your attention such as Under Armour and HUK.

In this crowd of brands, some should not be overlooked. Mojo Sportswear is one of those. Mojo Sportswear makes several different types of performance sportswear that is of the highest quality and also proven to protect you out on the water.

Our team had the opportunity to try out and review the Redfish Vented Wireman Shirt as well as the Flats Camo Performance Shirt. Here’s what we thought:

redfishRedfish Vented Wireman Shirt:

This shirt is based on the classic Wireman, but with added vented panels beneath the arms and in the sides. To give the design a cool new twist, it has fishy patterns sure to turn heads on the dock. The Wireman line of technical fishing shirts uses ComfortWeaze™, which is a tightly woven poly fabric that also offers a sun protection factor of UPF 50, blocking 98% of the sun’s harmful rays. It’s because of this tight weave that the UV rays cannot penetrate, which means that the UPF rating will never wash out of the shirt. The Wireman Contrasting Panel and Camo styles also have vented panels along the sides and beneath the arms to further increase airflow without sacrificing outstanding sun protection. ComfortWeave™ also resists stains, odors and snags and although it’s softer than cotton, it wears like iron.

  • 100% Technical Poly Microfiber
  • Side vents added for airflow and comfort
  • Enhanced Breathability
  • Stain & Wrinkle Resistant
  • Moisture Wicking/Quick Dry
  • Sun Protection Rating: UPF 50+
  • Chest & “Mojo Hook Sportfishing Gear” Logo on back
  • Sizes: XXS-3XL

On The Water

Well, let me start by stating that I wore both shirts several days fishing in full sun. I usually fish 12-hour days; eating lunch out on the water. I have to say that both shirts kept me cool and I didn’t get any sunburn whatsoever on my back or arms. The Comfort Zone technical fabric really kept me cool and wicked moisture away as it was intended to. While wearing the Flats Camo Performance shirt, we got rained on and the shirt dried quickly afterwards! I was very impressed with this feature.

There’s really not much else to say. These shirts were comfortable, wicked moisture and provided protection from the sun as advertised. The company also offers buffs, board shorts, hats, and outerwear/foul weather gear as well as several different collections of UFP shirts for outdoor activities. Fish hard, stay dry and Get YOUR Mojo On!

I find that technical apparel is so hit and miss these days, but Mojo Sportswear is bang on! I had no issues with the products tested and they performed better than I expected. These shirts protected me from the sun, were quick drying and wicked away moisture well.
