There are cool units that have received a makeover such as the Sonichub 2 as well as the launch of some innovative items meant to streamline your equipment and make things easier on the water. Enjoy!
Lowrance Elite TI Series Fishfiners/ Chartplotters
The Lowrance Elite-5 and Elite-7 Ti touchscreen fishfinder/chartplotters are meant to offer anglers high-performance at great value. With an easy-to-use touchscreen interface, Bluetooth and wireless connectivity, Lowrance navigation technology and high-performance sonar – including CHIRP sonar, StructureScan HD and DownScan Imaging – the Elite Ti Series is a fishfinder that gives anglers tonnes of features at an affordable price.
The Lowrance Elite Ti is designed for anglers who want a complete view of the area beneath their boat. CHIRP Sonar offers improved fish-target separation and screen clarity, while the StructureScan HD sonar imaging system with DownScan Imaging delivers photo-like images of fish-holding structure on both sides and directly beneath the boat.
Available in 5- or 7-inch models, both Elite Ti fishfinder/chartplotter models feature a highly accurate, built-in GPS antenna that displays position on a detailed U.S. basemap, with more than 3,000 lakes and rivers and coastal contours to 1,000 feet. Optional Americas chart upgrades include Lake Insight or Nautic Insight PRO and HD, Navionics HotMaps Premium and Fishing Hotspots PRO. Global chart upgrade options include Navionics+ and Jeppesen C-MAP MAX-N.
With integrated wireless connectivity, Elite Ti models operate directly through the GoFree shop for downloads of mapping and software updates. Elite Ti also works with the Insight Genesis map-creation service, which allows anglers to make custom, high-resolution contour maps from recorded sonar logs, with bottom-hardness and vegetation overlays, as well as Insight Genesis Social Map community chart sharing.
Bluetooth and wireless connectivity also provide single- or dual-control of Power-Pole installations, as well as access to the GoFree Controller App, which allows anglers to view and control the fishfinder/chartplotter display from an iPad or Android tablet.
A user-friendly, LED-backlit, touchscreen displays provides fast, fingertip access to all navigation and fishfinding functions. For example, with the Lowrance fish- and structure-marking TrackBack feature, anglers can review recorded history such as structure, transitions or fish targets, mark a waypoint on the sonar display, and then navigate to that location using the chartplotter view.
Protected by the Lowrance Advantage Service program, the Elite-5 and Elite-7 Ti can be purchased from Lowrance dealers and distributors throughout the United States and Canada and are priced at $599 and $799 respectively. Scheduled availability is January 2016 for the Elite-7 Ti and March 2016 for the Elite-5 Ti.
Lowrance TotalScan Transducer
With all three sonar technologies in one transducer, anglers can now receive the benefits of greater fish-target separation and less interference for a more clutter-free display with CHIRP Sonar, plus photo-like images of fish-holding structure on both sides of your boat with StructureScan HD – along with the same photo-like images directly beneath your boat with DownScan Imaging. The TotalScan transducer reduces the number of transducers required to take full advantage of all the latest fishfinding features of Lowrance systems. Lowering costs and simplifying installations, the Lowrance TotalScan transducer offers additional versatility with multiple mounting options.
The Lowrance TotalScan transducer is priced at $299 U.S. and is scheduled for availability in February 2016 from Lowrance dealers worldwide.
Lowrance HOOK Series Fishfinder
Available in 4-, 5-, 7- and 9-inch screen sizes, all Lowrance HOOK models feature CHIRP Sonar, which provides improved target identification at greater depths, a clearer display with less interference and enhanced target separation, so angers can more easily distinguish baitfish from game fish. DownScan Imaging is also available on most models to give anglers a clearer, photo-like view of the fish-holding structure beneath the boat.
All HOOK models combine these fishfinding capabilities with a bright, daylight viewable, backlit color LED display. HOOK models also have Lowrance exclusives like Advanced Signal Processing (ASP) for excellent target separation and superior noise rejection, HOOK helps anglers more easily identify baitfish and gamefish targets. Controlled with an easy-to-use interface, the convenient page selector menu allows quick access with one-thumb operation.
All HOOK fishfinder/chartplotter models feature a highly accurate, built-in GPS antenna that displays position on a detailed U.S. basemap, with more than 3,000 lakes and rivers and detailed coastal contours to 1,000 feet.
