Tackle Grab Unboxing – March 2013

by April 6, 2013

After a long day, this month’s Tackle Grab shipment was waiting for me when I got home on my birthday!  I already had a few nice surprises that day – this was just the cherry on top!

I always like to compare the value of the box to Tackle Grab’s minimum guaranteed value of $16. Here’s how this box stacked up to that claim:

1 – Reaction Strike Revolution Crankbait – Topwater XW-90 – available on Reaction Strike’s website for US$9.99

2 – Bassinova Baits 3/8″ bladed jig in Sexy Shad – available on Bassinova Bait’s website for US$6.00

3 – Gambler Lures 4-pk 4″ Bacon Rinds in Gold Rush Glitter – available on the Gambler Lures website on special US$9.99 for a bulk 40-pk (prorated to US $0.15 for a 4-pk)

4 – Hawg Wild Lure Co.  4pk of Skirted Grubs – available on the Hawg Wild Lure Co. website for US$5.00  for a 10pk (pro-rated to US$2.00 for a 4-pk)

Total box value =US $18.14 + a $5.00 coupon code off an order from WideOpenSpaces.com + 150 Tackle Grab points (which can be redeemed for $10.50 off future orders from Tackle Grab).

A good all-around selection for those who like to fish top water, run baits in the middle of the water column, or fish slowly along the bottom.  This package is very versatile and will have many uses.  Interestingly, as a Gambler Lures Am Pro Staff, I already have a lot of their product in my arsenal.  Regardless, this month’s Tackle Grab introduced me to a Gambler product I had not used before – the Bacon Rind. It’s a interesting bait with a ribbon tail and several appendages so it will make a good trailer for something like a swim jig, or even the Bassinova bladed swim jig also included in the box.

Once again, Tackle Grab did not disappoint! Stay tuned for our update on the April shipment (ETA – 1st week of May 2013)!
